Former MP and DP deputy Edmond Spaho commented on the protest held yesterday in Maliq, where citizens opposed the SP's proposal to merge their municipality with Korça, as part of the new territorial reform.

In a Facebook post, Spaho, who is also a former MP for this area, writes that the citizens of Maliq do not even deserve his pity, as they sell their votes for money and a bag of flour.

He calls the protesters shameless and hypocritical when they call on Korça's deputies not to vote for the territorial reform.

A good part of the Maliq Municipality, both right and left, for a few stinking lek and a few bags of flour, in the 2025 elections voted for the SP and DP candidates from the city of Korca and not the candidates representing Maliq, regardless of which political force they belonged to.

For the first time in 35 years of democracy, Maliq was left without a single MP in Parliament, when in most cases there have been two of them and important names in the DP and SP.

Hypocrites and shameless people who speak out in protests and call on Korca deputies not to vote for the territorial reform for Maliq.

Next time, you in the DP in Maliq Municipality, be careful when you vote, don't listen to Muli and Ivi who tell you to vote for the Korca candidate and for their sake, go and sleep with the mullixhine.
