Dash Sula goes "armed" to the Assembly: The price of olive oil is the
Ram Sula

DP MP Dashnor Sula denounced from the floor of the Assembly the low price of olives and olive oil and the remaining stock of this product on the market.

He placed a bottle of olive oil and a bottle of sunflower oil on the floor of the Assembly, to show that he got the same price. The MP asked the minister and the government to look at the farmers.

Sula pointed out that Albania has the best climate, but the villagers are poor and that they suffer to collect the olives and then to produce the oil, which is sold the same as sunflower oil. He further added that the price of olive oil will go as high as the price of oil set by the Board.

"Do you know that today there, to produce 1 liter of olive oil, a worker wants 20 thousand Lek, the oil is sold for 300 Lek. Did you know that there are no people to pick olives? The men and women of the village barely collect those grains. How will the situation be? Can the villagers make it in this state? Have you seen what village suffering means? Get out of the cars! Agricultural products cannot go outside the border, nor can they go to Kosovo. Albania has the best climate, the Garden of Eden, but the villagers are poor.

For every agricultural family to be subsidized. Do not find methods that do not go to the ordinary farmer. Minister of Agriculture, I would like to ask you, as a representative of the farmers of Elbasan district, to help them.
There are no more young men and women in the village, rest assured. It is a sin to sell olive oil as equal to sunflower oil, not corn oil. You threaten them that you will take the land from the peasant. If we depopulate the countryside, the only sector that produces...

Albanians do not receive any help from the government. The farmers have not yet received the money. It has been 8 years since all the farmers of Belshi have 1.6 million euros not received from the Greek tobacco company that was with the Albanian state. Look at the village, it is the people who suffer the most.

Rest assured and I guarantee you that the villagers are removing the black olives by producing olive oil. The price of olive oil will reach in two months the price of oil that your board has set. Today, olive oil is sold for 3,500 lek, " said Sula.

But this, according to the Minister of Agriculture, Frida Krifca, is not true because many farmers sell it at a high price, and they don't even have enough to export.

"Today we have 82 thousand farmers with NIPT that we can invoice. We have supported organic certification. Today they appear on certified markets. They sell olive oil at a high price, they don't have enough to export. It's a process that doesn't happen with a magic wand." said Krifca.
