The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha , in a press conference, accused financier George Soros and Prime Minister Edi Rama of " anti-Albanian and anti-democratic activities " in Albania over the last two decades.
Berisha stated that Rama and his close family members " have enriched themselves with millions and millions from George Soros' illegal money ," while asking the US government and Congress, as well as the FBI, to investigate Soros' activities in the country.
"Investigate every action of George Soros in the so-called constitutional and justice reform, with which they have today guaranteed a power that controls over 95 percent of everything in this country," Berisha said, describing the current situation as "almost complete monism."
Excerpts from Sali Berisha's conference:
I am here today to denounce to the Albanians all the anti-Albanian, anti-democratic activities of George Soros and his tool Edi Rama in Albania.
But I emphasize that Edi Rama, his ex-wife and current wife, have enriched themselves with millions and millions from George Soros' illegal money in Albania.
My call to the US government and the US Congress, my call to the FBI, to extend their investigations into George and his son in Albania over the past 20 years and find out how they used every kind of influence against a political force in favor of the extreme left of Edi Rama, his wife and his ex-wife, all key leaders in the Soros Foundation, fed with millions from this foundation.
To investigate George Soros' foreign policy, which was absolutely in line with Belgrade and conflicted with the interests of Albanians, with the official US policy followed up to that time, but also with the policy followed by President Donald Trump in his first term.
I call on them to use the RICO act to investigate every action of George Soros in the so-called constitutional and justice reform, with which they have today guaranteed a power that controls over 95 percent of everything in this country.
Practically almost a complete monism.
