Amnesty to get corrupt officials out of prison?' Manja answers Basha!

The Minister of Justice, Ulsi Manja , has responded to the accusations of the head of the DP, Lulzim Basha, that the criminal amnesty will be used to get corrupt officials out of prison.

Ulsi Manja declares that there is no amnesty from criminal prosecution for any of the cases and matters that are currently in the hands of the Special Prosecutor's Office and the GJKKO.

"I want to dwell on the amnesty for criminal prosecution. We are talking about cases that are currently in the hands of the jury or have not yet been judged by the justice system. There is no criminal amnesty for criminal prosecution for any of the crimes that are being investigated and tried in the special court .

The amnesty on criminal prosecution is for all criminal offenses that are currently in the hands of the prosecution or the judicial system and that are punishable by up to 2 years of punishment, i.e. criminal misdemeanors. Even as far as these are concerned, there are exceptions. They will not be recognized as having to do with domestic or gender-based violence, said  Ulsi Manja .
