"Clean up the remnants of FETO", Erdogan asks Rama to end Gulen's
Recep Tayyip Erdogan

In the joint statement to the media from Ankara, where a series of bilateral agreements were signed between Turkey and Albania, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan demanded a final solution to the problem with the FETO organization, which is financed by the cleric Fetullah Gulen.

Just like his Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan, who on January 29 from Tirana demanded the departure of the last FETO members remaining in Albania, Erdogan also told Prime Minister Edi Rama that the time has come to finalize the war with the terrorist organization declared by Turkey.

During his speech, Erdogan said that the FETO organization was part of the discussion with Rama, for which he said: "Part of our agenda was also the cleaning of the remains of Albania, which continues its activities with the aim of casting a shadow on our relationships. We will not allow this to achieve its objectives and we see that the Albanian authorities are also aware of this. Our fight with this structure will continue and I thank you for the contribution it has given to the Turkish Foundation that continues the education activity in Albania. We are convinced that this contribution will continue in the next period as well".

Turkish President Erdogan said that the cooperation with Albania continues to grow, as he said that the determination to raise Turkey-Albania relations to a higher level has been confirmed. Erdogan added that the objective is for the trade volume between the two countries to reach 2 billion dollars.

"Our cooperation continues to develop. Today, at the first meeting, we confirmed our determination to raise our relations to a higher level. I emphasized the importance that Turkey gives to increasing the well-being of the Albanian people. The trading volume has reached 1 billion dollars, the target is to reach 2 billion dollars. I am confident that we will reach this figure in a very short time. More than 600 Turkish companies have employed thousands of Albanians in support of the local economy. We will continue to work to increase investments. We will continue with our projects through the TIA agency. The agreement they signed will strengthen our cooperation even more."

President Erdogan reminded Prime Minister Rama of the promise he gave him for the construction of the hospital in Fier for a very short time, as he added that they will continue to manage it together.

"In January 2021, we promised that we would build a hospital in Albania within 3 months. We made a bet and we kept our word and in 3 months we built the friendship hospital in Fier. We will continue to manage this hospital together. From now on, we will continue to stand by the Albanian people."

At the end of his speech, Erdogan thanked Prime Minister Rama and the ministers for the visit and wished that the agreements signed between the two countries would be useful.

"We will continue our contacts with my friend. I wish that the decisions made and the agreements signed will be useful. For the contributions he has made, I thank Prime Minister Rama and may God protect and strengthen this relationship", said Erdogan.
