After the failure of negotiations for a candidate, the official Democratic Party has started the phase of its restructuring and the process of selecting candidates for the May 14 local elections.

Agron Kapllanaj, in an interview in Ora News, has confirmed his candidacy for the Mallakastër Municipality, while at the weekend he will be officially presented before the structures.

"The decision to run is not a personal ambition or office, but an obligation to the citizens who have trusted me over the years and unfortunately we abandoned them in 2019".

When asked about the division within the DP, Agron Kapllanaj, avoids the accusatory language while declaring that his name in Mallakastër unites the democrats.

"Democrats will know how to choose. I have proven in difficult days that I have served them. I have served the democrats and socialists without distinction. And when I have not made these distinctions, I cannot see differences within my political family."

But has he negotiated or will he negotiate with "Reestablishment", Agron Kapllanaj gives a clear answer:

"I will be a candidate. My party, as I said and have said, are the Malagasy citizens. I owe them and I will be there for them".

Based on this, he says that it is not the time to think about either Lulzim Basha or Sali Berisha, but for the citizens, and this should be the duty of everyone in the Democratic Party.
