60% youth and women in the National Council, Berisha: The biggest renewal since the party's founding

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, declared today, July 18, that this political force has completed the process of reorganizing its forums, describing it as "the deepest process of renewal of the DP since its founding."

In his virtual weekend communication, Berisha said that changes in leadership structures have brought greater representation of young people and women.

"This process was developed under the motto of renewing the DP, not only in terms of numbers, but also of the deficit proportions in this party," he said.

According to him, in the National Council of the Democratic Party, 60% are made up of young people and women, while two-thirds of the new party leaders are elected for the first time. Berisha announced that there have also been major changes in the leadership structures, emphasizing that out of 14 party secretaries, only 3 have been re-elected.

"This is the deepest process of renewal of the DP since its founding," emphasized the leader of the DP.

Berisha also dedicated an important part of his speech to the diaspora. He said that for the first time, its role within the party has been institutionalized. "Important first steps have been taken. A party vice-chairwoman and a secretary for the diaspora have been elected," he further declared.

He also spoke about the protest held in Tirana, expressing his support once again. Berisha called on democrats and citizens to join the protest, saying that the "peaceful uprising of Albanian youth and citizens" must continue.
