The Democratic Party has reacted regarding Erion Veliaj's letter from Fier prison, in which the mayor of Tirana accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of imposing three conditions on him, which were conveyed to him by Toni Gogu during their meeting on Friday.
Among the conditions are resigning from the Tirana municipality to delegate to Arbër Hajdari, as well as admitting that he intervened in the flamingo protests.
The DP says it condemns the "cell threat" of the mayor of Tirana and "demands an urgent investigation into this criminal act by Edi Rama, Toni Gogu."
According to the blue headquarters, the letter proves that the life of the mayor of Tirana in the prison where he has been transferred "is in extremely great danger."
Democratic Party statement:
Today, the media published Erion Veliaj's letter from prison, in which he writes that, after his transfer to Fier prison, Edi Rama sent the Minister of Justice, Toni Gogu, to his cell and asked him to hand over the municipality to the notorious thief Arbër Hajdari, or face 100 years in prison for violating the constitutional order and financing the 'Flamingos'.
The Democratic Party of Albania declares that:
The mafia threats against the prisoner Erion Veliaj are evidence of the true face of the head of Edi Rama's criminal organization (godfather).
The mafia threat to prisoner Erion Veliaj by the head of the criminal organization, Edvin Kristaq Xhelati, proves that the life of prisoner Erion Veliaj in Fier prison is in extremely serious danger.
This scandalous act proves that SPAK is no longer being used as a whip only for the opposition and a shield for the corrupt, but, worse still, as a blackmailing instrument of war within the ruling gang.
The Democratic Party condemns in the strongest possible terms the threat in the cell of prisoner Erion Veliaj and demands an urgent investigation into this criminal act by Edi Rama, Toni Gogu, as well as the notorious thief Arbër Hajdari, who seeks to take over the Municipality of Tirana in an illegal and unconstitutional way.
