Scientists have discovered a new planet, which is 245 light years away from Earth and has been named TOI-733b.

Its size is slightly less than twice the radius of the Earth and it presents a peculiarity: the absence of an atmosphere. Experts, at the moment, have presented two possibilities.

The first is that it may have lost this layer. The second is a "highly irradiated oceanic world".

In the study published by the specialized magazine "Astronomy & Astrophysics", it is detailed that this planet has its orbit around a star slightly smaller than the Sun and that it completes it in a total of 4.9 days. And it is this proximity to the star that serves as an explanation for the first of two scenarios that scientists have put forward for its atmosphere.

One of the reasons scientists find to explain this situation is that, since it is a body very close to its Sun, it will end up evaporating.

Another of the great discoveries highlighted by the publication of this article is the similarity of this planet, as well as others with similar characteristics, to Neptune, albeit smaller.
