The occasions when you may need to send photos via WhatsApp can be numerous, but what happens is that the quality of the images degrades once they are uploaded to the chat.

But apparently that could be a thing of the past as WhatsApp is testing the ability for users to send high-quality photos through the platform, according to WABetaInfo.

"This innovation definitely improves the user experience and is currently being tested in beta," explained WABetaInfo.

WABetaInfo has spotted this new feature in the latest beta versions of WhatsApp for iOS and Android – iOS 23.11.0.76 and Android 2.23.12.13.

As of now, the quality of photos sent via WhatsApp is reduced by 70%. Although this makes data sharing faster, it is mostly frustrating for users as photos cannot be shared on other platforms due to low quality.

However, beta versions of WhatsApp now have a new option that allows them to choose the quality of the photo before sharing it with friends.
