Priorities are not spoken, they are shown by actions.

It's not easy for parents who work from home; take care of the children and perform daily tasks at work. Especially when you have business to take care of.

But there are some tips that can help to manage life and work well.

Use the power of reframing

On those days when you start work much later than you'd like, or don't get as much done as you'd like, remember: This flexibility is one of the benefits of working from home.

You have the freedom to prioritize life or work, so take advantage of it.

Start the day good

Start the day with a coffee and conversation with your partner, talking about things not related to work. It shouldn't be for too long, but don't rush either, and half an hour should be enough.

Help each other

This applies to both partners, but is especially true for fathers, as mothers tend to carry the heaviest load when you're just starting a family.

There will be times when you both struggle. So try to help the other person before you help yourself.

Take a real lunch break

At least an hour if you can, disconnect from work and rest.

Take Friday off if you can

Switching to a four-day work week can be one of the best things you can do for your family and your mental health.

There will definitely be times when you will have to work on Friday. But do your best to leave as little work as possible for Friday.

Keep in mind that everyone struggles and it takes years to find balance. It's a constant battle, but you can succeed.

And that when you put family first, the business will grow more slowly – or maybe even stop growing at some point – and that's okay.
