Luana Alonso's name already started circulating on social media before the paris Olympics began.

However, her stay in Paris has not been what she expected. After being disqualified in the first round of the 100m backstroke, Alonso announced her withdrawal. It didn't stop there, as paraguay's Olympic Committee publicly asked her to leave the Olympic village for "creating an unsuitable environment for her teammates." An eviction that, though categorically denied on its social media feeds, has already spread worldwide.

Born in Asunción in 2004, Luana Alonso has had a direct connection to swimming since she was just 4 years old. At that age she started racing and only 17 made her debut at her first Olympic Games in Tokyo 2021. An experience that must have been very rewarding, as she tattooed the rings near the intimate venue.

She currently resides in the United States, where she trains and studies political science at South Methodist University in Dallas. In the university setting she met her last boyfriend. The love affair between Luana and Dash Wolford, a casual American student, lasted only a few months.

On her Twitter account, a social network on which she is highly active, the Paraguayan was particularly tough when it came to communicating her breakup. "It was ridiculous, I thought I'd marry him," she wrote, hinting wolford had been responsible. She also stressed in her public profiles that she was entering the 2024 single.

In all the interviews she has given publicly, the swimmer has made it clear that she does not plan to extend her professional career more than 30 years.

"I can swim until I'm 24, 25, 26. I will always have a love of swimming, but it's not what I want in life. I want to work in a company and already have my life plan. My biggest dream outside of sport is to be a mother and if I keep connecting with swimming I think it won't be possible," Luana said in an interview.

Another of the anecdotes he has revealed is that footballer Neymar has written a direct message to him on Instagram. Without indicating what the specific content was, the Paraguayan confessed that it took a while to see it and that, consequently, she stopped responding.
