Europe plunges once again into the nightmare of Islamic terrorism and relives the anxiety of the three-year "dark" period 2015-2017, with ISIS taking innocent victims in almost all the countries of the European Union and not only.
A dark climate in which even the most pessimistic interpretations of the most famous "prophet" of modernity, Baba Vanga, the Bulgarian "Nostradamus", take on new powers.
Her words shrouded in legend and uncertainty, like those of the famous sixteenth-century French astrologer, can be read in many ways, often inclined to current events and conditioned by the suggestion of the moment.
Very often, her predictions for the coming year are full of tragic and apocalyptic visions.
And it is even more true for this latter part of 2023, in which the war in Ukraine that began a year and a half ago is being joined, in a worrying scenario, by the already open tensions between China and the United States, ( from Russia to Taiwan ), the open conflict in the Middle East between Israel and Hamas, the possible involvement of Lebanon and Iran that would transform a still "local" war (on paper) into a world war, and finally the shadow of jihadism in an old continent increasingly in crisis and less decisive. The Eastern European visionary decades ago predicted a change in the Earth's orbit: a prophecy that some read as an anticipation of a nuclear explosion.
Then there is talk of the year 2023 for the "creation of children in the laboratory", a reality already imagined by Nazi geneticists 80 years ago. For his part, one of Nostradamus's infamous predictions mentioned "seven months from the Great War, people dead because of wickedness", a passage predicted for the current year.
