The Guardian has already described it as "the best Christmas advertisement of this year". Simple ingredients are what set the Christmas ad apart at Charlie's Bar in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland.

The historic pub, opened in 1944, has a short narrative: a sad-looking old gentleman goes to lay flowers on a grave, then is ignored by the young people he tries to be nice to. He enters Charlie's Bar, where he receives a warm welcome and is befriended by a young couple and their dog.

Just over two minutes of video showing how friendship and genuine smiles can warm anyone's heart: protagonists Martin McManus, 73 (member of an amateur theater group), local couple Meagan Daley and Alex Middlemass and their dog Missy .

A perfect commercial, accompanied by the song "People Help the People" by Birdy. The spot was created with a smartphone for only 700 pounds (about 800 euros) and has been viewed millions of times on social networks and according to the British The Guardian is "the best Christmas advertisement of the year".
