A statement by Ina Dajçi, announced "Miss Universe Albania" in August 2021, where she says that the experience in these competitions is terrible, has been widely shared on social networks.

Ina has clarified her statement and shows what terrible things she meant.

Behind the scenes, one thing is said, another thing happens, she said, while emphasizing that there is a lot of pressure on the girls and perfection is demanded of them.

"The girls at the Miss Universe pageant in Israel were very concerned about their appearance. Some had fresh wounds from the interventions. They are under a lot of pressure to be perfect.

Pressure comes from people who comment, but also from people who are there. They exert pressure in a very painful way.

One of the first experiences, after I won in Albania. One of the things we were asked at the beginning was a video where you show how you will use the Miss Universe platform. 

I am part of a humanitarian mission in New York. I had made a video where I was dressed in a costume with Albanian motifs. My suit was closed and the moment I showed them this video, one of the organizers said to me you are very smart, but you are very closed in your video, you are not showing us anything”, she said, indicating that she was asked to show as much of the cleavage as possible.

"I realized that they were not interested in my mind", Ina Dajçi emphasizes in a TV interview.

"You said I'm not conservative, but when you're talking about humanitarian crises, you can't dress differently. All that is seen there is how much a girl will show of her graces. I remember feeling very bad," she said.
