Although one of the most successful singers in the Albanian music market, Mandi Nishtulla did not think that one day he would climb a giant stage in "Skënderbej" square. He had often stated in interviews that he was not invited to such concerts because of prejudices.
But, yesterday evening he sang for the first time in "Skenderbej" square and for that he did not forget to thank the man who invited him to be part of this experience. Through a video that is circulating on social networks, Mandi Nishtulla thanks the mayor Erion Veliaj, who broke the taboos and invited her to perform his hit "Sarile" in the square.
"Until yesterday, the day before yesterday, they told us that they don't accept us blacks. But, I thank Lali Erin a lot because this is... (shows heart). Just choose this, this is my life. I love you Lali Eri, you are the best. I Love You", he says in the video.
We remind you that the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, has been awarded by the European Union with the "Mayor friendliest to the Roma community" award. An award which was presented in Brussels, during a special ceremony organized in the European Parliament, by the General Directorate for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations in the European Commission and the Network of European Organizations for Roma.
Until December 31, every evening, Tirana will welcome artists and instrumentalists to the square, creating a wonderful atmosphere for the holidays.
