Renowned American director Steven Spielberg offered a glimpse of his upcoming film "Disclosure Day," his latest feature film about extraterrestrials since he first tackled the subject 50 years ago.

The film giant presented the film at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, the industry trade show where studios reveal their upcoming releases to theater owners.

"Disclosure Day" depicts the encounter between humanity and extraterrestrial life, a scenario reminiscent of his 1977 film "Close Encounters of the Third Kind."

"Half a century later, I made this film with a much stronger conviction that there is more truth than fiction in this film," Steven Spielberg told the audience at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

The film "Disclosure Day", which will be released on June 12 in the United States, stars, among others, Emily Blunt, Josh O'Connor, Eve Henson and Colman Domingo.

"This film is an adventure and the only thing you need to follow it from beginning to end is a seatbelt," the 79-year-old director declared.

Steven Spielberg confessed that since childhood he has been fascinated by "what happens in the night sky."

"I truly believe that this film will provide answers and make you ask a lot of questions," he continued.

At CinemaCon, the three-time Oscar-winning director received an award from the Motion Picture Association, an American trade organization that represents the interests of major Hollywood studios.

Steven Spielberg also spoke about the importance he places on long runs in theaters, especially as streaming platforms continue to cut into box office revenue.

"I'm particularly pleased to see that Universal recently announced its commitment to a 45-day theatrical window," said the director.
