"99 lashes for hugging a woman", the Iranian embassy tells the truth

In recent days there have been many reports about Cristiano Ronaldo. The reason for this was media reports that the superstar will be sentenced to 99 lashes once he steps on Iranian soil.

This is because the Portuguese hugged a woman on his last trip to Iran. This is considered adultery in this Muslim country and the media have given different versions, alluding to an official launch of investigations into this issue.

But the Iranian embassy in Spain has now rejected all reports and has spoken clearly about this situation, denying that there has been a court ruling on the matter.

"We strictly deny that there has been a court decision against an international athlete in Iran," the Iranian Embassy announced on social media.
