The President of Serbia, Aleksandër Vučić, "softens" his language towards Kosovo when a high-ranking American and NATO official steps on its land.

Vucic announced that he had a good conversation with the commander of NATO's Allied Air Command and the commander of US Air Forces in Europe and Africa, General James Hecker.

The main topic in their meeting was the security situation in Serbia, the region and especially in Kosovo, but also the cooperation between NATO and Belgrade.

"I reiterated my gratitude to the KFOR forces, which are guarantors of the peace and security of our people in Kosovo, and I expressed my satisfaction for the mutual trust and good cooperation that is being developed while respecting the military neutrality of Serbia. We also discussed the strengthening of bilateral cooperation between Serbia and the USA in the field of defense, which contributes both to the strengthening of our defense capacities, to the maintenance of peace and stability, as well as to the improvement of the general bilateral relations of the two countries" . Vucic said.

Earlier, Vucic held a telephone conversation with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron. As he announced through a post on Instagram, he asked the head of Eliza to stand by Serbia on the difficult path of peace and stability, as he claims, despite all the difficulties he faces.

Vucic also said that during the conversation he emphasized the importance of continuing to solve important issues, such as that of Kosovo and the Serbian community, which, as he said, lives deprived of rights.

"I reiterated that this issue should continue to occupy an important place on the EU agenda, with strong diplomatic commitment aimed at the final implementation of the Brussels Agreement and the formation of the Association of Municipalities with a Serbian majority, as a basis for building peace stable and security guarantees for the Serbian people", declared Vučič.
