Russian President Vladimir Putin signed at least a dozen agreements with his Vietnamese counterpart To Lam in Hanoi during his state visit to Vietnam on Thursday.
Russia offered Vietnam, among other things, the supply of fossil fuels, including natural gas. Putin and Lam also agreed to cooperate in the fields of education, science and technology and the promotion of clean energy.
Of the 12 publicly announced agreements, none made explicit reference to defense. However, Lam has indicated that there were other agreements that were not made public.
It was learned that the two countries also agreed to develop a scientific center for nuclear technology in Vietnam.
Also, Russia and Vietnam have reached agreements on cooperation in energy fields, including the supply of fossil fuels and the promotion of clean energy.
