Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić has stated that there are warnings that the Government of Kosovo will stop the use of the Serbian state currency, the dinar, in the municipalities inhabited by Serbian majority in Kosovo.

Vucic made the statement during his speech as a participant in the World Economic Forum being held in Davos, Switzerland.

"We received a notification from Pristina that they are ready to consider canceling payment transactions with central Serbia, banning the use of dinars and raiding Postanska Banka, one of the two banks that operate with dinars and according to the Serbian system," stated Vucic. .

He said that this calls into question the normalization of relations while he emphasized that he will raise the issue during the meeting with Assistant Secretary O'Brien.
