A few days ago, US military troops stationed in Germany published a video that left followers on social media somewhat surprised.
The video showed a small "FPS" drone, throwing a hand grenade. But what surprised people was the seemingly naïve question of the U.S. forces: "Have you ever seen grenades thrown from a drone?" ...
There were many comments pointing out that this was not a novelty, in fact, it has been more than three years now that drones have become the main weapon of the battlefield in Ukraine. Not only grenades, drones have also been used to set fire to enemy thickets or even as a means of communication and surveillance.
A recent case is that of the evacuation of a Ukrainian soldier, wounded on the battlefield and surrounded by the Russians. Ukrainians from the command center asked him through the radio receiver if he was capable of riding a bicycle. After he replied that he could, a drone sends him an electric bike and then he is seen evacuating to the safe zone.
The bicycle weighed about 40 kilograms, which was above the limit of the drone used to transport it, however the Ukrainians decided to try it, and succeeded.
?????????? Wow... impressive Ukrainian ingenuity. They air-dropped a bicycle to a stranded soldier who was surrounded. Impressive! pic.twitter.com/X58x1TOZLl
