In a joint conference with US President Joe Biden, Zelensky declared from Kiev that the "democratic world" must "win this historic war".
In his speech, Zelensky highly appreciated the American support and said that this Monday's visit to Kiev is the most important visit in the history of US-Ukraine relations.
"It is the most important visit in the entire history of US-Ukraine relations," Zelensky said.
"Today our negotiations were very fruitful," he added.
Zelensky underlined that the results of this visit will certainly be seen and reflected on the battlefield. The US decision to give Abrams tanks to Ukraine in early January has already contributed to strengthening Ukraine's defenses, the Russian president stressed, adding that he and Biden also talked about long-range weapons.
"I know there will be a very significant package of support for Ukraine ... serving as a clear signal that Russia's aggression has no chance of triumphing," Zelensky said.
"Ukraine is grateful to you, Mr. President," he thanked the US president.
