The search operation for people in the ruins of buildings destroyed by the February 6 earthquake in Turkey and Syria is expected to end this Sunday. On the 14th day, the number of victims is calculated at over 46,000, of which over 5,600 are in Syria alone.

Turkish authorities announce that the ground is still under seismic shaking. A 5.1 magnitude earthquake was recorded in Central Turkey. Since February 6, the tremors of the earthquake have been felt in 11 cities and in about 10,000 neighborhoods, and so far over 5,700 aftershocks have occurred.

The damage caused by the earthquake is great, while the main challenge remains finding a shelter for the families whose homes were destroyed.

Currently, they are sheltered in public hostels, hotels and other accommodation facilities. The Turkish authorities declared that they have sheltered 313,720 people affected by the earthquake.
