The White House officially announced that US President Donald Trump will attend the NATO summit to be held on June 24 and 25 in The Hague, Netherlands.
After returning to power, Trump is persistently demanding that NATO member countries significantly increase their national defense spending.
At a press conference, White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt announced that a phone conversation will soon take place between President Trump and his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping.
She added that the United States is closely monitoring China's implementation of last month's customs agreement.
Levitt also stressed that Trump was not informed in advance about Ukraine's "Operation Spider Web ," in which Ukraine attacked Russian bases in Siberia with drones to strike nuclear-capable bombers.
On the other hand, President Trump congratulated the winner of the presidential election in Poland, nationalist Karol Nawroki, expressing satisfaction with the result.
"Congratulations Poland, you've picked a WINNER!" he wrote earlier on social media.
This summit is expected to bring important discussions on global security and cooperation among NATO allies at a time of numerous international challenges.
