Tensions between the two countries Kosovo and Serbia are increasing after successive incidents that have been recorded during these days in the offices of the KZZ in North Mitrovica, which has been attacked with grenades. Serbia has threatened to enter Kosovo with 1000 military troops in Kosovo.
The head of the Office for Kosovo in the Government of Serbia, Petar Petkovic, said that Serbia will consider sending these security forces to Kosovo, thus increasing tensions. According to him, this intervention will be taken in accordance with Resolution 1244 of the United Nations.
This reaction comes after Kosovo two days ago increased the presence of its forces in the north of Mitrovica, which is inhabited by a majority of Serbs. Petkovic said that 300 to 350 Kosovo policemen, including members of the ROSU special forces, "have occupied and blocked" North Mitrovica.
"As we have warned, Kurti has continued with illegal and violent actions aimed at occupying the north of Kosovo. After confiscating the wine by attacking the Petrović family and after the mistreatment of children in Leposavič, about 300 to 500 policemen, heavily armed and members of ROSU with military equipment, have invaded the north of Kosovo", said Petkovic in this conference.
Among other things, Petkovic stated yesterday that the Kosovar policemen have blocked the entire north of Kosovo, although no incident has been reported so far and citizens have been free to film and follow the movements of the policemen.
"I am repeating, especially for those in the West, that the Albanian police from the south have invaded the north of Kosovo", he said at this conference.
According to Petkovic, Kosovar policemen have no right to stay in the territory of Kosovo.
