An art installation combined with technology has been shut down in both Dublin and New York after being misused by citizens.
Called "The Portal", the installation consists of two giant screen circles, one located in the Irish capital and the other in New York, USA, that broadcast live footage connecting hundreds of citizens remotely.
There have been many cases when people in New York have rushed to go to the "Portal" to greet their relatives who are in Dublin, but during the last few days there has been no lack of abuse.

In Dublin, a citizen decided to show New Yorkers a picture of the Twin Towers as they were hit in the 9/11 tragedy.
The climax was reached when a Tik-Tok influencer decided to lift her shirt while standing in front of the "Portal" in New York, giving a "spectacle" to those watching from the other side in Dublin.

The instillation staff said that the "Portal" will remain closed "for technical reasons" for 24 hours.
Dublin City Council noted that there has been an increase in visits since the Portal was unveiled in north Dublin, opposite O'Connell Street. The New York portal is at the busy Manhattan intersection of Broadway, Fifth Avenue and 23rd Street.
The creators of the instillation, however, said they are not discouraged by some of the citizens' behavior and are working to establish more portals to connect more cities.
