The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora in Kosovo has confirmed the news that they refused the visit of the patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Porfirije.
The media in Kosovo inform that through an official announcement, the Ministry has clarified that the reason for the ban on the Serbian cleric from visiting Kosovo is that Serbia is not continuing to respect the basic agreements it has signed with Pristina.
"As long as Serbia continues to violate the Brussels agreement, does not allow the visits of our state officials to Serbia and moreover does not stop with campaigns against the Republic of Kosovo in the international arena, both in the integration and recognition processes, it continues to uses hate speech and threats against the Republic of Kosovo and its representatives, visits will not be allowed from our side either", the announcement states.
"As is known, Serbia has created a ministerial group to violate the basic agreement and to prevent the membership of the Republic of Kosovo in the Council of Europe and as long as it continues with this approach and war against Kosovo by any means, it does not want this approval of such visits. We encourage Serbia to implement the basic agreement and act with reciprocity in relation to Kosovo and mutual visits", it is further stated.
