From today, there is no more free electricity for Serbs in northern Kosovo

The Chairman of the Electricity System, Transmission and Market Operator in Kosovo (KOSTT), Evetar Zeqiri, announced that from today, the Serbian company Elektrosever has taken responsibility for electricity consumption in the north.

Zeqiri described this as a great success, in addition to visa liberalization and freedom of movement of vehicles with RKS license plates on the territory of Serbia.

"On January 1, 2024, starting from 00:01', the supplier Elektrosever Sh.p.k, -a company licensed and registered under the laws of the Republic of Kosovo- has started to nominate energy for four northern municipalities. So it's starting to take responsibility for energy consumption in the north. "After more than 20 years, the energy consumed in the northern part will be paid the same as in the rest of the country's territory," he wrote on Facebook.

He added two photos to the post.

"The first picture (on the left) shows the period about 1 hour before 12:00h, before the nomination starts. While the second picture (on the right) shows the time somewhere about 6 minutes after the nomination starts. "There is a level of unintentional deviations apparently lower, i.e. near zero," he wrote.
