One of the greatest mysteries of world aviation continues to remain unsolved. In order to find out what happened to the Malaysia Airlines plane that disappeared on March 8, 2014, authorities in Malaysia have agreed to resume the search for the event.
Malaysia's Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the proposal to return to the investigation came from the American exploration company Ocean Infinity, which had also conducted the last search for the plane in 2018.
"Exploration operations are expected to begin as soon as the contract is finalized and signed by both parties. They have informed us that the appropriate time to resume exploration in that area is between January and April."
The Boeing 777 aircraft was carrying 239 people on board, traveling from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.
The governments of Australia, Malaysia and China suspended the search in January 2017, after surveying large areas of the Indian Ocean at a cost of over $150 million.
Officials stated at the time that the crash site could possibly have been closer to the north.
