The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti , together with the President of the country Vjosa Osmani Sadriu and the Speaker of the Assembly, Glauk Konjufca, paid tribute and placed fresh flowers, in Poklek of the Municipality of Drenas, on the occasion of the 24th anniversary of the massacre in this village.
After the tributes, Prime Minister Kurti said that the Poklek massacre is evidence of Serbia's genocide in Kosovo, recalling that 54 Albanian civilians were killed here 24 years ago, because they were Albanians and because they wanted to live free and in peace in their land.
"The killing was not enough, but the burning of the corpses followed, which means that the plan was to exterminate not only lives, but also beings. Therefore, the massacre of Paklek is a living testimony of the genocide of Serbia even to this day", said Kurti.
Kurti emphasized that next month it will be four years since the Assembly of the Republic has made it possible for the State Prosecutor's Office, for the special prosecutors, to follow and then the justice system to try Serbian criminals in absentia.
