The Basic Court in Tetovo has imposed eight days of detention on the anesthesiologist from Tetovo, due to the shooting of a video by the Department of Gynecology at the Clinical Hospital in Tetovo, which he then published on the TikTok application.
The Prosecutor's Office of Tetova accuses the 43-year-old (VD) of the crimes of "negligent work in the service" and "unauthorized recording".
The anesthesiologist is now in Shutka prison. He was arrested on Friday after midnight, a few hours after he had published the video on TikTok.
The denunciation was made by the director of the Tetova hospital, Pëllumb Vela, who described the doctor's act as "unacceptable". The hospital of Tetova also, in an emergency procedure, decided to dismiss the doctor from work. The decision of the hospital was approved by the Ministry of Health of North Macedonia.
"We are not talking about suspension, but we are talking about leaving the work relationship. We encourage the prosecution to pursue these cases to the end. All irregularities will not be able to go unpunished. There will be strict controls regarding the health sector. From now on, health will not be as it was", stated the Minister of Health, Fatmir Mejhiti, after the visit to the Tetova hospital.
The Chamber of Doctors of North Macedonia has strongly condemned the incident with the anesthesiologist, demanding relevant measures from the institutions.
"The demand for respecting personal rights starts from respecting the rights of others, in this case the rights of patients. In the shortest possible time, the bodies of the Chamber will be called to examine the case and take actions and measures", says the reaction of the Chamber of Doctors.
The Chamber of Doctors says that it will not allow such isolated incidents to be the burden of all doctors, who professionally and responsibly act and treat patients on a daily basis.
This case has caused numerous reactions in the public opinion, with demands that urgent measures be taken by the relevant institutions, but also other measures to prevent such publications that violate people's privacy./REL
