Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said it is necessary to take hands off the trigger before there is more destruction, bloodshed, civilian casualties and a terrible catastrophe in the Israel-Iran conflict.

Erdogan delivered a speech at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum event held at the Halic University Congress Hall in Istanbul.

He said that the Islamic world is going through a difficult period, with wars, conflicts and instability casting a shadow over its entire geography.

Speaking about Israeli attacks on Palestinians, the Turkish president drew attention to attacks on civilians awaiting humanitarian aid.

"People standing in food distribution lines in Gaza for a piece of bread and a bowl of soup are being savagely targeted," he said.

"Gaza has experienced one of the most shameful acts of modern barbarism for 21 months," Erdogan added.

"Israel, which complains about the damage to its hospitals today, has so far carried out over 700 attacks on healthcare institutions in Gaza alone," he said, adding that "the Netanyahu government is primarily responsible for the genocide in Gaza. Those who remain silent in the face of these massacres are accomplices in these crimes."

Erdogan stressed that for those who turned Gaza into the largest concentration camp in the world to talk about war crimes is not only instability, but also shows great shamelessness.

"The powers that have influence over Israel 'should not fall for Netanyahu's game.' They should use their influence to establish a ceasefire and calm in our region," the Turkish president said.

He also addressed Israel's intimidation tactics against him and Turkey, saying that "despite the Zionist lobby's intimidation tactics against me and my government, we never changed our stance and never hesitated to stand with the oppressed."

"It is imperative to take our hands off the trigger before there is more destruction, bloodshed, civilian casualties and a terrible catastrophe in the Israel-Iran conflict."

According to Erdogan, unfortunately, both the genocide in Gaza and the conflicts in Iran are rapidly approaching the point of no return.

"Both the genocide in Gaza and the conflict between Israel and Iran are, unfortunately, rapidly reaching the point of no return," Erdogan added, calling for a ceasefire "before a catastrophe occurs."

Erdogan has stressed that Turkey must strengthen its preventive capabilities to ensure that no one attacks the country during this period of war that began last week.

After a meeting of his cabinet on Monday, he declared: “We are drawing up production plans to bring our stockpiles of medium- and long-range missiles to a level that guarantees deterrent power, in light of recent developments.” “With God’s help, in the not-too-distant future, we will achieve a defense capacity so powerful that no one will dare to show force against us.”
