Iran's Foreign Minister rejects any negotiations with the US as long as Israeli attacks continue, AFP reports.
Yesterday, US President Donald Trump, through the White House press secretary, announced that he will make any decision regarding Iran within the next two weeks, hoping for a peaceful solution through diplomatic channels.
Awaiting talks in Geneva between Europe and Iran
Today, European foreign ministers, including Britain's David Lamy, will meet in Geneva with their Iranian counterpart.
Referring to the importance of these talks, a European diplomat told Reuters.
"The Iranians cannot sit at the negotiating table with the Americans, while we can. We will tell them to return to the negotiating table to discuss the nuclear issue before the worst-case scenario, expressing our concerns about their ballistic missiles, their support for Russia, and the detention of our citizens."
Two diplomats also told Reuters that there were no high expectations for significant progress in Geneva, but said cooperation with Iran was vital because once the war ended, the problem of Iran's nuclear program would remain unresolved.
An Iranian official also told Reuters that Tehran has always welcomed diplomacy.
"Iran remains committed to diplomacy as the only path to resolving disputes - but diplomacy is under attack," he said.
