The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has reacted to the situation created in the North of Kosovo a day before the issuance of entry-exit documents at the border crossings with Serbia.
Through a video message, Kurti states that what is happening in the north with roadblocks and shootings were planned in Belgrade and Raške by the Serbian President Aleksandër Vucic and the Serbian Director of the Office for Kosovo Petar Petkovic, who, as he says, are the main responsible for riots.
Even the president of AAK, Ramush Haradinaj, has reacted about the recent developments in the north after the decision to establish reciprocity with Serbia.
Through a post on Facebook, Haradinaj wrote that the decision to establish reciprocity is fair and legal.
"The decision to establish reciprocity with Serbia is fair and legal based on both local and international laws," wrote Haradinaj.
He says that he supports the country's institutions for the implementation of this decision.
"We support the country's institutions, law and order and security bodies, for the implementation of this fair and legal decision. We call on the Serbian citizens in the north of the country to refrain and maintain peace, order and law," concluded Haradinaj.
Today, the border crossing points in Bërnjak and Jarinje were closed due to the blocking of the roads by Serbs from the north of Kosovo. Kosovo media report that on the Serbian side of the border there are hundreds of vehicles with license plates from European countries waiting.
The reason was the decision of the government of Kosovo, which has announced that from August 1, the decision on reciprocity with Serbia, on the issue of recognition of documents, will come into force.
From Monday, Serbian citizens who want to enter Kosovo who present identification documents issued by Serbia, will be provided with a temporary "entry/exit" document. This document will be issued at all land and air crossings and will be valid for 90 days.
This will be the same as the document that Serbian authorities issue to citizens of Kosovo when they enter Serbia. In the north, road blocking with trucks has started, an hour after the city's alarm was sounded.
The Kosovo Police rejected the information about an injury in the north of the country. The media of Kosovo write that the Special Unit of Kosovo is getting ready to leave for the north of the country.
