The meeting of the Security Council in Kosovo ends: The decision on license

The meeting of the Security Council in Kosovo has ended. The Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, today convened the Security Council of Kosovo in a meeting to discuss the security situation in the country, one day before the entry into force of the decision on the reciprocity of license plates and temporary documents for Serbian citizens entering Kosovo. .

After the end of the meeting, the Office of the Prime Minister issued a press release informing that the deadline for the coverage of Serbian state symbols and designations has been postponed until October.

"Tomorrow, on August 1, 2022, the implementation of the Government's decision of June 29, for the beginning of the conversion of license plates to official ones of the Republic of Kosovo and for border crossing with temporary declaration sheets that replace personal identification documents, comes into force from Serbia, as the deadline for the covering of symbols and Serbian state designations, for vehicles entering our territory, is postponed. This deadline is postponed until October 31, 2022", the announcement states.

In the announcement, it is emphasized that the institutions have already developed all the technical and administrative procedures for the implementation of these decisions. Every institution assures citizens that the possibility of replacing illegal license plates, as well as the passage of citizens at border crossing points, will be processed quickly, without obstacles and in real time.

"The decision of the Government of Kosovo is in function of security, establishment of public order and legality of the rule of law. Therefore, the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo remain committed and united to respond to any security situation, always in coordination and close cooperation with our strategic partners", the announcement states.

From August 1, the registration of illegal number plates in the RKS, in all Vehicle Registration Centers, begins. This is because the Government of Kosovo on June 29 of this year approved the decision to enable the registration of vehicles with RKS license plates for all vehicles equipped with "PR", "KM", "PZ", "GL", "UR" license plates. ", "PE", "DA" or "ĐA". Likewise, citizens of Serbia who entered Kosovo will be equipped with an entry-exit document at all border points, a similar measure that Serbia has been applying to citizens of Kosovo for several years now.
