Kamala Harris is strengthening her positions in the latest polls before the next presidential election in the USA and it seems that she has won some points with her pro-gun statements.
Vice President Harris recently admitted that she knows how to shoot a gun and confessed that she has a gun registered in her name.
The Democratic Vice President revealed in an interview with CBS' "60 Minutes" on Monday that she owns a Glock semi-automatic handgun, with which she admitted to shooting safely at a shooting range.
"I have a Glock that I've been carrying around for a while," Harris said, responding to a reporter who asked if she owned a gun.
"Did you shoot with him?", asked the journalist. "Of course, at the shooting range," she answered, laughing and recalling her past as a prosecutor.
Until recently, Kamala Harris had tried to hide the fact that she owned a gun, aligning herself with the Democratic camp that tends to favor stronger regulations on their use.
Then in mid-September, the vice president revealed in an interview with Oprah Winfrey that she owns a gun, without specifying which one, and said at the time that she would shoot anyone who might set foot in her apartment.
With the Nov. 5 election looming, a process seen as a head-to-head race with her Republican rival Donald Trump, she has already been forced to take a stand in a country like the US that has more guns than people in circulation.
