A man lost his life Thursday after his pants were caught on the door of a train in Brooklyn and dragged across the platform and rails.

According to the NYPD, the passenger was getting off a train at Brooklyn Avenue M Station around 11:50 p.m. Wednesday when his pants and possibly his foot were caught in the doorway.

The man dragged himself off the moving train and then jumped on the tracks, where another train was arriving. The subway operator was able to stop the train before hitting the man.

The unidentified man, believed to be in his 30s, was rushed by EMS to Maimonides Medical Center, where he died early Thursday morning.

The tragic incident is the latest subway-related death for New York City.

Earlier in the year, two people were thrown off the rails, including Michelle Alyssa Go, who was killed after being pushed to the station square in Times Square by a homeless man.
