One of the young people who survived the serious tragedy that happened in Greece, has discovered how the confusion of the wagon he was supposed to board saved his life.

Giannis Antonoglou told the BBC that he was lucky to have escaped as he had a ticket for the second carriage of the train but had mistakenly boarded the fifth carriage.

The first and second carriages of the train were almost completely destroyed in the collision with the freight train.

Stafylos says the people in his wagon were worried after the incident and he tried to help and calm them down before trying to escape, which took about half an hour.

“At first we broke the windows, but we didn't have the right tool for it… so we tried to break one of the doors. Finally, emergency services arrived to save them.
