A 21-year-old British man tragically lost his life in Athens while he was with his family on vacation in Greece. Greek media reports that the young man was returning from Mykonos in a helicopter with his sister and brother, while his parents were in another helicopter.
They landed at Eleftherios Venizelos Airport, boarded the family's private jet and returned to Britain.
The two helicopters were flying one after the other. Superior Air's first Bell 407 helicopter, with four passengers and a crew, landed at the company's Helipad, very close to Eleftherios Venizelos Airport. In the second helicopter, there were the parents of the 21-year-old who lost his life.
After Superior Air's Bell 407 landed, the four passengers left the area to board cars that would take them to Eleftherios Venizelos Airport.
According to what is known so far, the tragedy occurred as the young man got off the black bell 407, not knowing that a propeller was still spinning, and headed towards the tail of the helicopter, for an as yet unknown reason.
His brother and the pilot were shocked to see the young man dismembered before their eyes after he was hit by the tail rotor of the operating helicopter and died instantly.
