Hackers have attacked the tax and tax agency in Italy, demanding a reward to pay within 5 days, otherwise they will publish the data of citizens and businesses, who say they have accessed.

According to Italian media, Italian authorities have launched investigations to understand the extent of the attack's damage and whether hackers have really secured access to the data, or are playing bluff.

SoGEI, the Italian information society, or AKSHI's counterpart in Albania, has been asked to provide the data.

At the moment it is suspected that hackers have managed to download from the servers of the 78 gigabit tax agency and according to some rumours up to 100 GB.

Doubts about the authorof the attack fall on LockBit, a group of hackers from Eastern Europe, who are blamed for a series of cyber attacks in Europe, starting in 2020.
