The Speaker of the Parliament,  Glauk Konjufca, has warned of a rejection attitude of Kosovo towards the draft statute of the Association proposed by the European Union.

Konjufca thanked the EU for its contribution, but added that the draft will not be implemented.

 "This draft EU statute, I say thank you very much for advising us in such a friendly way. No more, that draft is not implemented. If these are your tips, thank you very much, but there are also many problematic things in there. Why are those things? Because Kosovo did not write it. So simple", said Konjufca in Klan Kosova.

Konjufca says that something like this can only be achieved when Serbia recognizes Kosovo's citizenship, which Vucic does not believe will ever happen.

"There is no mention of the Association, but a form of self-management of the interests of this community is mentioned, which will happen with a mechanism that is probably not called an Association at all. I don't know why we have this urgency to approach our country like this. We should approach our country like this: Kosovo has the competence to present it if it has it from the understanding of the debt we have, from this understanding we have remained there. The EU has said, yes, they agree, this is Kosovo's, and it is internal, and it does not even appear in negotiations with Serbia. And now when it will be done, if it is done. I think nothing is done, because the position of our government and our state is this: it can only be done with recognition and in an agreement signed by Vucic on behalf of Serbia, which de facto recognizes the citizenship of Kosovo. I think Vucic never does. And we come to the conclusion that if he doesn't do it, this part of us won't be done either", emphasized the Speaker of the Assembly.
