A woman from Kosovo has been sentenced to life imprisonment in Germany. This is how the District Court in Verden decided.

The 25-year-old, in August of last year, had bathed her daughter with very hot water to the extent that she suffered life-threatening burns.

The woman had not sent her daughter to the doctor at all, because she did not have health insurance.

The young woman was afraid that she would not be able to afford the expenses, the German media wrote.

According to the court, she had not treated the child appropriately. The woman had applied cream and bandaged the four-year-old.

The girl died 12 days after being scalded. During the trial, the defendant said that she realized too late that the water was too hot.

The woman claimed that the wounds were caused by the girl herself
