Chinese President Xi Jinping has ordered his military to be ready to invade Taiwan by 2027, although he is beginning to have doubts about his ability to do so after seeing the situation between Russia and Ukraine.
This was stated by the head of the CIA, William Burns, according to CBS.
"It is not certain that China will occupy Taiwan in 2027 or any other year. Our assessment today is that Beijing's leader and military chiefs are not confident that they will be able to complete the mission.
I think our judgment at least is that President Xi and his military leadership have doubts about whether they can carry out that invasion, having seen Vladimir Putin's experience in Ukraine.
All I would say is that I think the risks, the potential use of force will probably increase further in this decade and beyond, into the next decade as well. This is something that we look at very, very carefully," said the head of the CIA.
