Another tower is coming to life in one of Tirana's oldest neighborhoods, on "Qemal Stafa" street, next to the "Red" School. The Territorial Development Agency has issued the next permit, where instead of private apartments, the most characteristic ones in the capital, a 23-story building will "grow" high, which will overshadow the ground-floor apartments in the area.

It seems that, in addition to the center of Tirana, the towers are also being moved to the most historical areas, wanting to once and for all erase the history of the capital, the housing or everything else. According to documents researched by Vox News, local plans have paved the way for these towers, where usually firms make the plans privately to serve the bureaucratic officials of the Municipality of Tirana.

Normally, construction brings development, but flattening history or anything else seems to be more like the disappearance of identity. There are plenty of places for towers, on the New Boulevard, in the fields of Yzberisht, near the Big Ring Road. But not in the center, in those places known as the old neighborhoods of Tirana.

Are there towers or multi-story buildings in the historical areas of Budapest, Vienna, Berlin, Rome, Madrid, Istanbul, Paris, etc.?! Of course not, since they are built in the suburbs and economic areas, which bring development. Both go hand in hand, but these statesmen of ours find it easier to put a foot down on everything.

According to documents available to Vox News, in recent days the Territorial Development Agency has issued another permit for a tower, in one of the oldest areas of Tirana, in Administrative Unit No. 8. Once, the residents of that area were known as the "old tyrants", meanwhile now they will not be able to recognize their neighbors, let alone the neighborhood, which is increasingly alienating.

Instead of typical buildings, 2-story villas or brick or even adobe buildings, huge mansions are being built, once with permission from the Municipality of Tirana and now with permission from the KKTU. The documents state that "the area is located along the 'Qemal Stafa' road. The property is located 1 km as the crow flies and approximately 10 minutes by car from the center of Tirana," the documents state.

The permits specify that it is a residential and service unit with 21 and 23 floors, with the developer company "Primo Invest", with owners Ersi Ngjela and Besnik Paluca. "The tower is bordered to the north by existing ground-floor buildings, to the south by the main road 'Qemal Stafa', and to the east and west by residential buildings, mainly ground floors and an existing 5K building. The functions that should be implemented in this area according to the study are the new buildings proposed with a residential function. Commercial premises can be implemented in these buildings on the first floors," the document states.

So, there were local study plans that paved the way for the towers. " On a broader scale, this turns the area into a very important pole for the city, not only in terms of positioning but also in terms of the formulation and mixing of public and private functions," the document continues.

The document states that this project proposes to build about 9556.81 m² above ground, of which 279.22 m2 are services. "It is planned to build 1 23-storey building with residential and service functions. It is also planned to build 3 underground floors with a total of 3220.59 m²," the documents state.

According to her, with a location very close to the city center, the luxury apartments are in the presence of green spaces that offer an atmosphere of tranquility. "The main use will be residential, although these spaces will also include various service facilities in the form of a commercial center ," the document continues.

According to her, in the property being developed, the largest part goes to the arrangement of infrastructure, squares, sidewalks and greenery. "The space around the facility will be arranged with sidewalks, benches and trees. The existing road infrastructure is insufficient for good circulation of cars and pedestrians, so the Municipality of Tirana has foreseen interventions in the area such as the creation of a connecting road between the main axis 'Qemal Stafa' street and 'Dervish Hekal'i' street ," the document continues.
