What is happening in the Presidency? Begaj leaves the advisers outside the door,
The President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj

On July 24, the new President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, took the oath and began his work as the Head of the Albanian State.

Monday of this week was his first day of work. He started the task by signing the decrees of changes in the Government.

In the last four weeks as president-elect, Begaj has started to create the close staff that will work next to him.

Sources close to the presidency told Vox News that Begaj has appointed Eduart Seitaj, who previously held the position of Secretary General in the Ministry of Transport when it was headed by Edmond Haxhinasto, as chief of staff.

Florian Kalin, previously director at the Ministry of Defense, has taken over as Secretary General.

Klement Zgurin, one of the lawyers and public figures with great integrity, has been selected as a councilor for the local government.

He has also approached Alma Shehu from KLSH, Llambriola Misto, former LSI candidate and Alket Jaupin from the People's Advocate as advisers.

The changes are expected to continue as Ketrin Treska left with her resignation, where she explained the reasons for her departure in a long letter.

While the departure of the director of Communication Edvin Shvarc is also expected, according to rumors in the corridors of the presidency, he will be replaced by a journalist-analyst who previously worked with Meta and Majko.

The changes do not surprise us, since the staff of the presidency is more than that, but what has created anger among the employees of this institution is the way in which the new president is working to remove the old staff.

A good part of this staff has been working in the administration for years and should be considered as an investment by the institution itself.

But apparently President Begaj has come with a scalpel in hand.

His orders regarding the way senior staff should be treated have been commented "no money before" at the doors of this institution.

Three days ago, Vox News reported that on the first day of work, President Begaj demanded the resignation of all Ilir Meta's staff, while those who fled were not even allowed to take their personal belongings from their offices! Even though five years have passed there, now they can no longer step into their former office! Order from... the President!

Sources told Vox News that Meta Councilors have been left behind the front door for minutes, barred from entering the office!

As they asked to open the door like every day, the guard's sentence was: I'm sorry, but we have been told that you cannot enter the institution, while up to that moment they were part of the staff!

Although it is about well-known figures such as Ambassador Flamur Gashi, it is known that the order was issued by... the General Secretary not to allow anyone to enter the institution.

Meanwhile, there is a tension in the offices of the presidency and those who are still in office from the previous staff have realized that their days are numbered in one of the most important buildings located on "Dëşmorët e Kombit" Boulevard.

The presidency is the most important institution in the Albanian state, but Mr. Kali, the President's confidant as General Secretary, seems to have no "reins" in the first days.

His loud voice can be heard even beyond the walls of the presidency! Apparently, Dr. Begaj has given you this right.

Most of the employees are in the civil service, and the presidency should be a model in respecting this status.

The main problem Albania has today is the lack of professionalism and law enforcement in the Public Administration, and the President should be a contributor to fix this flaw and not help destroy it.

We don't know what the General Secretary represents to the President or to his antechamber, but to the media and the public he is an administration employee who should be equal to others.

The figure of the President is claimed to be an example for the administration and for the citizens, since he represents everyone, but since the first days, he is not showing this.

Arrogant behavior towards the current staff who, regardless of whether they were brought by Moisiu, Topi, Nishani or Meta, are employees of the Albanian state.
