Mujahedin-e-Khalq Chair Maryam Rajavi is reportedly negotiating the removal of MEK members from Albania and their resettlement to a secret location in Canada.

The news is reported by several foreign media linked to the Iranian government.

A source told the Iranian media agency Tasnim that the head of the Mojahedin is planning to relocate them from Albania, following the controls of the Albanian State Police, on the orders of the Special Prosecution Office that has them under investigation for terrorist acts by our country.

"MKO leaders are making preparations for the slow withdrawal of their members from Albania," the source told Iranian media.

The media agency reported earlier that Maryam Rajavi was barred from entering Albania.

It is alleged that Rajavi failed to agree with French authorities for their deployment to the commune of Auvers-sur-Oise, on the outskirts of Paris.

Tasnim reports that they have begun negotiations with Canadian officials to secure the move and initially obtain residence permits and provisional passports for members of the group.

The Iranian agency claims that the Mojahedin have expressed that their "status quo" in Albania is no different from Iraq.

About 3,500 mojahedin have been sheltering in the "Ashraf" camp in Manëz, Durres for nearly 10 years.
