Should Shkëlzen's villa in Rolling Hills be investigated, just like Ahmetaj's villa in Palasa?!

The "Mountain of Tirana" tower may be the tip of the iceberg of a multi-year corruption affair of the Berisha family, and SPAK has an obligation to at least investigate all the accusations and doubts raised regarding the real ownership of the construction company of the building.

The indications to do this are clear. First, a post on Facebook by Shkëlzen Berisha who says that he has been living on rent in Albania for 17 years and moreover pays this rent many times less than the real value of the villas in Lundër.

His case, if not identical, is similar to that of Arben Ahmetaj. First, in the case of Ahmetaj, it accuses him of using a network of businessmen to clean corruption money. Shkëlzen Berisha is also publicly accused of the same thing.

Arben Ahmetaj was discovered to have two villas located in the name of his ex-wife and partner, one in Palasa and one in Hamallaj. For both, he did not justify the source of income, even for the villa in Palasa, he tried to hide it in the name of an Albanian woman with Swiss citizenship.

Shkëlzen Berisha, on the other hand, declares that by chance he lives on rent in a villa in Lundre, which is owned by Ilir Shtufi, the same businessman who de jure owns the company Nova Construction. SPAK should investigate whether this is really a coincidence, or whether Shkëlzen Berisha is simultaneously the owner not only of the villa in Lundër, but also of the construction company of the tower.

In Ahmetaj's case, SPAK analyzed the telephone communications of people close to him, found electricity and water bills as proof of his and his ex-wife's real ownership of the villa in Palasa.

SPAK should follow the same precedent in the case of Shkëlzen Berisha. It must investigate and analyze all communications of Ilir Shtufi with Shkëlzen Berisha, if there are any, and with people close to the former Prime Minister's son, from his current wife to everyone else.

SPAK should clarify why the rental of the villa in Lundre until 2016 was declared in Sali Berishë's self-declaration form in ILDKPKI and after this year it was removed? He should clarify how much rent he is paying, is it real according to the market value, or is it fictitious?

SPAK should trace all the transactions of Ilir Shtufi's companies, domestically and abroad, to give an answer if he is really their owner, or does he have the name simply as a cover for laundering the money of a multi-year corruption?

Precedentët për këtë SPAK i ka vendosur, jo vetëm me rastin e Arben Ahmetajt, por edhe me atë të ish-kreut të Gjykatës Kushtetuese, Bashkim Dedja, që akuzohet dhe rrezikon burgun sepse ka fshehur jo një vilë, as një kompani të tërë ndërtimi, por një apartament me vlerë modeste në Durrës.

Duke u nisur nga këta dy precedentë, SPAK duhet të hetojë dhe provojë se kush jeton në vilën në Lundër dhe kush janë pronarët realë të saj. SPAK duhet të provojë nëse djali i Sali Berishës fle në një vilë që është në emër të pronarit formal të kullës, por që është e tij, si shumë biznese të Shtufit, Shtufi ja kë lënë vilën me qira, apo ja ka falur fare.
