
The 2024 budget, through the "Fishing Support" Program, makes available to the fishing sector a fund of nearly 473 million ALL, or 14% more than last year.
The financial support will enable investment in increasing mooring capacity in the country's main ports to safely accommodate the fishing fleet, and the national support scheme will be made available to continue with the renewal of the fishing fleet.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development announces that the objectives of the year 2024 for this sector consist of the management of fishing and aquaculture, supporting the sector with structural policies for markets, commercial policies and international policies in order to develop fishing activity in accordance with EU standards guaranteeing competitiveness, protection of resources.
The objectives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, are to increase the number of fisheries inspectorate controls in fishing entities from 2300 in 2023 to 2450 in 2026.
