Generation Z, or iGen, is growing up with technology and artificial intelligence. From users and explorers, they are increasingly turning into creators, embracing and using technology to push the boundaries of what is considered achievable.

In this reality, innovation is no longer the product of sterile laboratories alone. It is born in classrooms, from conversations and exchanges between friends, and, often, these ideas take shape and are tested through hackathons. Encouraged by this, One Albania has joined this year's 'National AI Hackathon 2026', investing precisely in this early stage of young people's potential, where curiosity and passion are transformed into concrete skills and solutions.

This hackathon brought together the most talented high school students from all over Albania, from Korça to Shkodra. Young people aged 15–18, divided into groups, worked to develop innovative projects, addressing concrete challenges in areas such as education, mental health, road safety and digital services. The best ideas were presented at the closing ceremony held near the Pyramid on March 27.

In addition to the monetary value, One Albania was an active part of this edition by bringing a dedicated challenge, “Sentiment Analysis for Social Media Campaign”. This exercise gave participants the opportunity to explore the use of artificial intelligence in analyzing public perception and in building smarter campaigns, driven by data and audience understanding. First place in this hackathon went to group 2B, which had chosen to create a platform to review and analyze the elements of One Albania’s campaigns.

The 'National AI Hackathon', organized by POLIS University and AI Hub Albania, brings young people closer to the most advanced technologies and equips them with practical skills for building solutions based on artificial intelligence. Through mentorship from industry experts and a practical approach, this project served as a platform to identify and foster young talents at the national level.

For One Albania, supporting such initiatives is part of a long-term vision to empower young people through education, technology and real opportunities for development. By standing next to young people in different cities across the country, One Albania contributes to building a more inclusive culture of innovation, where students and high school students have access to experiences that strengthen not only technical skills, but also self-confidence and ambition to build more.
